Kung Fu - The Band That Time Forgot

Good bands play to their strengths. On their debut release, The Band That Time Forgot, Glasgow's Kung Fu show the potential to be a decent garage rock band, albeit not a very progressive one. Not that this factor ever hindered The Datsuns. The riffs are solid, the groove is present and although all of the four tracks here could be shortened, they're a reasonably tight unit. Which is why their decision to make the often out-of-tune vocals and weak lyrics the focal point of the music is puzzling to say the least, delivering a fatal chop to King Fu's jugular in the first round.
