Kings Die Kings - Error Of Our Ways

Kings Die Kings are singular in their pursuit of 'unknown pleasures'

Single Review by Darren Carle | 07 Nov 2007
Single title: Error Of Our Ways
Artist: Kings Die Kings
As ever, we've got no shortage of bands citing Joy Division as referees on their musical CVs these days, but whilst the likes of Interpol touch some bases other than the Macclesfield miserablists, it seems that Edinburgh quintet Kings Die Kings are much more singular in their pursuit of 'unknown pleasures'. Singer Keith Routledge has a crack at Ian Curtis's ominous, baritone vocals though it tends to sound more like slavish idolatry than anything quite so genuine. Ultimately Error Of Our Ways lacks the dark menace it aspires to and just isn't strong enough to carry such pretensions. [Darren Carle]
