Born Ruffians - I Need A Life

Warp records have a knack of picking up incredible ‘electronic’ artists but when it comes to straight ahead guitar bands they just keep dropping the ball – need we discuss Maximo Park? Born Ruffians have a sound as painfully skinny as the jeans they no doubt wear and a singer that does little more than yelp over this undemanding tripe - slightly jerky guitar, and a lot of floor tom are overwhelmed by a relentless non-descript howl. One lives in hope that one of Warp’s roster remixes the living hell out of this. Then again, whether or not this is salvageable is up for debate.
