Jamie Cullum - I'm All Over It
Published 29 October 2009
Clint Eastwood is cool: he was cool as a young buck chewing cigar butts and he’s still cool as a wiry pensioner. It would take something monumentally uncool to dent this – like, say collaborating with Jamie the jazz-gonk Cullum. But though their closing credits dirge from Gran Torino was justly derided [easy now, you know that was ACE - ed], Cullum’s All Over It Now is more appetising, if only because it doesn’t threaten any iconic reputations. “Hello innocence, though it seems we’ve been friends for years” is a stinker of an opening lyric, but the chorus is so insuppressibly bouncy it just – just – skirts offensiveness.
