Mumm-Ra - She's Got You High

...a bland, heard-it-all-before exercise in Radio 2-targeted schlock-pop.

Single Review by Nick Mitchell | 11 May 2007
Label: Columbia/SonyBMG
They named their band after a villain from the Thundercats. They were tipped for the top by the NME. They are signed to the second largest record label in the world. Make of these facts what you will, but somehow they put a dampener on Mumm-Ra before you've even given them a chance. But once you do, all you'll get back in return is a bland, heard-it-all-before exercise in Radio 2-targeted pop-schlock. This single sounds as if some sponsored alchemist has distilled all those dull, implausibly successful bands of the past decade into one sickly-smooth musical Calpol. Yuk. [Nick Mitchell]
Release Date: 14 May.
