Arctic Monkeys - Leave Before The Lights Come On

3/5 stars
It's just a song about awkward drunken shags
Single review by Ally Brown.

Leave Before The Lights Come On wasn't on that debut LP that sold a trillion copies, and so is likely to follow in the chart-topping footsteps of its predecessive singles, but within this tale of preferring beer-goggled visions of beauty to cold, painful reality, are the seeds of an allegory, as the most hyped band in history prepare for their 'difficult' second album. Not that that's deliberate – it's just a song about awkward drunken shags, with that insistent drumbeat and wiry guitar sound you and your budgie know so well. Who's a not-so-pretty polly?
