Belle and Sebastian - White Collar Boy

White Collar Boy encapsulates what a slick and confident pop machine these one-time wallflowers have become over their past two albums. Whether that is a good thing or not is a moot point. White Collar Boy - all Eno-esque keyboards, call and response vocals, and sing along chorus - has all the constituent parts in the right place but, like it's parent album 'The Life Pursuit', feels a tad too pleased with itself to be much more than a tunefully diverting counterpoint to the more ramshackle (and soulful) glories of the past.
