The Concretes - On The Radio

This opening track from The Concretes' album 'In Colour' is the perfect preface to the summer. The piano intro could have been pinched from The Monkees and ushers us into a track that's catchier than bird flu. The blissful harmonies have earned this Scandinavian octet comparisons with last year's seasonal success story and current collaborators The Magic Numbers. This is a superb slice of sunshine pop that journeys through the ages from The Mamas and the Papas to The Delays, and features a delicious vocal from Victoria Bergsman. Lovely. [Finbarr Bermingham]
