What is it about so much music these days that the choruses of Tainted Love or Just Can’t Get Enough seem about to burst through at any time? This disc is a key example. Everything here reminds you of another, better record. What this disc does have going for it is its brevity – no track overstays its welcome. When the beats kick in, they really kick in; this sounds suspiciously close to what LCD Soundsystem strove for with last year’s Sound Of Silver album. But, where they used imagination and invention, here, Star Fighter Pilot just slavishly copy.
