This is how compilations in any genre should sound. Compilers and mixers Adam Sheridan and Tylor Leigh have fashioned, out of the 26 tracks present here, a very satisfying whole that allows each track its own moment in the sun without condemning any others by comparison. Beginning with the vampish splendour of Marc Van Linden's My Way, this album takes away to another plain, just as any good compilation should. A kind of plateau is reached midway, with the one-two punch of First State’s Folly and Deadmau5’ Complications but each track is superbly rendered, so as to give a rounded, very satisfying listen. Not your usual Ibiza fodder, in other words. The beats on display throughout here pummel the album’s black heart into life and the balance of gender to the whole affair means there’s a track or a mood to suit all tastes.
