Prehistoric Friends – Prehistoric Friends

Some records are easy to love, others can be impossible to hate. The debut album from Glasgow's Prehistoric Friend's does a fine job of bridging both of these standpoints with a collection of songs that burst with beaming energy and pride. It's no secret that this album has been bubbling away within Liam Chapman's private abode for some time now but it's right that they've finally found the light of day.

From the previously released glow of Bermuda Triangle and Mammals to the more furrowed and dynamic Gentle Giant, this is big and bold widescreen pop music, full of swirling instrumentation and heartfelt chant along choruses, bound to bring its listeners an extra sense of magic in these colder, darker months. It may have taken a little longer than expected but Prehistoric Friends is charming enough to forgive the wait. The boy (and his pals) done good.
