Noisia - Fabriclive 40

For those who like their drum and bass a bit darker, this will definitely not disappoint

Label: Fabric Records
Release date: 16 Jun

Dark, Dutch and dirty is the theme for Fabric’s latest mix CD. From the onset it’s clear that this isn’t a mix for the faint-hearted. Almost immediately, Noisia’s trademark growling bass can be heard on opening track Cannonball. This sets the tone for the whole mix, with the Dutch trio frantically twisting and turning through a whopping 29 tracks. Never afraid of mixing it up, they flawlessly manoeuvre between d'n'b and breaks, ensuring that the listener's always kept guessing as to what will happen next. Standout tracks on the mix include their fantastic remix of Moby’s Alice and their anthem-in-waiting Diplodocus. Overall, Noisia have created a ferocious monster of a mix which may startle some listeners, but for those who like their drum and bass a bit darker, this will definitely not disappoint. [Al Majik]
