Lights, Action! - All Eyes To The Morning Sun

Nothing on this mini album from the London five-piece supports the cocksure attitude

Guitarist Karl Bareham told this publication in 2006 that he wanted his band’s songs to be remembered two decades hence. But nothing on this mini album from the London five-piece supports his cocksure attitude; these six tracks are made up of dumb big guitar hooks, driving drums, the odd moody bit and Patrick Currier’s fairly unremarkable vocals. They wind up sounding, especially on the lamentable opener Aurora, like a weak imitation of the Killers, utilising the vaguely irksome synth sound recently re-popularised by that band, with a dollop of angst-y, middle-of-the-road British indie thrown in to strictly limited effect.
