Jay Haze - Fabric 47

Jay Haze provides a mix with just as much heart as groove.

Album Review by David McNamara | 08 Jul 2009
Album title: Fabric 47
Artist: Jay Haze
Label: Fabric Records
Release date: 13 July

Since the release of his debut LP Love For a Strange World in 2005, Jay Haze has been unstoppable. The multifaceted DJ and producer runs three labels that distribute house, techno and dub reggae respectively. Each of these passions are reflected in his Fabric mix. Every track, regardless of the countless genres Haze flirts between, is charged with positive energy and there is even an uplifting monologue from The Last Poets that conveys Haze’s overall message: celebrate the wonder of life. The strongest efforts have to be Johnny Fiasco’s Conduction and Ms. Minelli’s Anchient Blessing for their sheer dance floor hysteria potential. Haze is a firm believer in giving back to others and dedicates a lot of his time to charity work. It comes as no surprise that 95 percent of the profits from this album are going to The Democratic Republic of Congo Charity. This is engaging dance music with a heart. [David McNamara]
