Force Of Nature - III

Album title: III
Artist: Force Of Nature
Label: Mule Musiq
Release date: 6 Jun 2008

Two years after its release in Japan, Mule Musiq finally drop Force of Nature's III on the British public. The Japanese duo is composed of DJ Kent and KZA, and fittingly enough III is their third album under the moniker. With a background covering hip hop, techno, breakbeat, disco and house, the pairing certainly aren't short of styles. Sadly though, they're pretty short of ideas and tend to rehash the sounds of bygone eras. Innovation isn't really their strong point, and you'll almost certainly recognise half of the sounds used in this album from 'hits' in the 80's and 90's. The album's not entirely unlistenable though, with notable high points being the more soulful Mens Elegies and Bring It, although even the latter dwindles off into repetition after two or three minutes, whilst the former is mercifully short at 1:22. You won't kill yourself listening to this one, but then you won't pee yourself with excitement either.
