The Night Marchers - See You In Magic

Relentlessly good fun

Anyone expecting John Reis to follow Rocket From The Crypt with anything but a balls-to-the-floor rock 'n' roll explosion will be greatly disappointed here. The Night Marchers hit the ground running with And I Keep Holding On, a punk rock take on Paint It Black. Indeed the main riff is so similar as to be borderline theft. No matter, Reis and his crew give not a second thought before launching into the bass heavy Bad Bloods. Where RFTC were all punk rockabilly, this new outfit are much more garage rock. Yet Reis still has an ear for a good rock 'n' roll guitar fill, especially on Panther In Crime, and Total Bloodbath. "It's never over," he warns before the crashing drums and howls which act as backing vocals drown him out. This is relentlessly good fun. [Neal Parsons]
