Holy Fuck - LP

Nine bite-sized chunks of slapdash upbeat electro.

Album Review by Jamie Borthwick | 07 Nov 2007
Album title: LP
Artist: Holy Fuck
Label: Young Turks
Named after one of Robin's lesser-said exclamations to the Caped Crusader, Holy Fuck swirl through an impressively chaotic debut album with this eponymous offering. The Fuck have been gaining momentum through their unrehearsed analogue explosions of live performances across their Canadian homeland, eventually arriving to great surprise and delight at festivals such as Glastonbury this year. This recording draws on the strongest passages of live material, dicing it up into nine bite-sized chunks of slapdash upbeat electro. Comparisons to early Chemical Brothers may be premature but with such excellent early offerings as bass-n-bleeps opener Super Inuit and the summery euphoria of Lovely Allen, you'll hope this holy racket can only keep gaining the drive they've acquired this past year.
