Album title: Make History
Artist: Thunderbirds Are Now!
Label: French Kiss
Thunderbirds Are Now! wear their influences proudly on their sleeves. Pop-centric melodies and songs in major keys mixed with some electro weirdness and actual choruses. Upbeat guitars and heavy rhythms crash through keyboards as Make History dances through the Panic! At The Disco influenced opener 'Panthers In Crime' to the dulcet tones of Franz Ferdinand on 'Sound Issues / Smart Ideas'. Throwing in plenty of Daft Punk tendencies, Thunderbirds Are Now! even finds room to borrow heavily from Mylo and The Faint to create a modern-pop triumph that juxtaposes straight-up pop music with hints towards the peculiar – a rock album that actually accesses the dance character that it claims to.
