Ron Sexsmith - Time Being

a return to form for the Canadian singer songwriter

Album title: Time Being
Artist: Ron Sexsmith
Label: V2
Time Being' is Ron Sexmsith's eighth full-length recording and marks somewhat of a return to form for the Canadian singer songwriter. Reuniting with producer Mitchell Froom, the steady hand on the tiller for the troubadour's first three albums has definitely steered Sexsmith back on a fair course. The stripped down instrumentation allows the elegant song writing shine as Sexsmith's mellifluous voice draws you into his meandering tales of love and loss. The strength of 'Time Being' lies in his ability to produce heartfelt love songs that are genuine and tender without ever sounding trite. The early albums remain his strongest work to date but by teaming up with an old deck hand, Ron Sexsmith has produced an album that can hold its own with those and eclipse the work of most of his peers.
