Tour Bus Anthems: Frightened Rabbit

Feature by Scott Hutchison | 01 Jun 2010

It's nothing new or fancy, but I just recently downloaded The Best Of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, after Andy from the band got me into it. It's classic American songwriting: big (yet intelligent) songs about girls and cars and the sky. The older stuff is particularly great; American Girl is basically the whole of The Strokes' back catalogue distilled into one song. The guitars sound jangly and victorious, there are handclaps galore and there are some really clever bits and pieces hidden in there. Good van music.
