A Muso's Top 10: Queens of the Stone Age

Feature by Dave Kerr | 02 Feb 2010

Last issue we got to know Them Crooked Vultures and learned all about their extensive touring plans for the year - very good. But what the hell happened to Josh Homme's day job? Well, Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen (currently moonlighting with garage combo Sweethead) shines a light and tells us "Queens will rise again" to reconvene in 2010. "It’s looking like the autumn," he reveals, before teasing: "We've got some cool stuff about to happen on that front." Maybe Desert Sessions 11&12 is finally in the can. We can only but speculate.

In the meantime, Van Leeuwen offers an insight into the ten slithers of vinyl he'd most probably save from a raging house fire:

1. David Bowie - Diamond Dogs
2. Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
3. Tom Waits - Franks Wild Years
4. Dr. Octagon - Dr. Octagonecologyst
5. Brian Eno - Ambient One: Music For Airports
6. Goodspeed You! Black Emperor - F# A# (Infinity)
7. Nick Cave - The Good Son
8. Pretenders - Pretenders
9. Jimi Hendrix - Eletcric Ladyland
10. Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
