Trof NQ announce 10th birthday party plans

Who can believe Trof in the Northern Quarter has been around for ten years?! It's certainly making us feel old. But we're also excited, because we can reveal their super cool celebration plans right here at The Skinny.

We'll let them put it their way: "Ten years ago Steve Jobs showed the first iPhone to the world and changed it forever. But little did we know at the time that this wasn’t the most important event of the year… That was when Trof NQ was born." 

The multi-floor food and drink palace is celebrating with a (very) long Bank Holiday weekend of events, spanning 25-31 May and including a special DJ set by Jimi Goodwin of Doves, leading the bill on what is usually Trof NQ's Open Mic night. 

Other highlights of the week-long bonanza include a takeover by The Skinny's favourite club Wet Play (accept no imitations), a birthday-themed quiz and a guest party from Albert Hall residents La Discotheque, who are popping up the road to sprinkle some of their glitter and disco vibes about the place. La Discotheque have hosted some huge acts at Albert Hall, including Candi Staton, Todd Terje and Hercules & Love Affair, and for 'La Petite Discotheque' at Trof NQ they've lined up some of Manc's finest disco purveyors with El Diablo’s Social Club, Disco Illusions, Luv Dancin’ and Disco Brunch already confirmed, plus more to be annnounced.

If that weren't enough, there'll also be a mini Stay Fresh Fest on the Bank Holiday Monday, as the Deaf Institute's flagship new music festival pops up with a very special bill featuring some of the hottest emerging acts in the North.
