What was the party of 2015? Anyone who made The Kazimier’s huge NYE celebration last year – which also acted as closing night for the much-loved Liverpool venue – will tell you that it was a night like no other.

The event, named Escape to Planet Kronos, was spread across three venues, turning Wolstenholme Square into the scene of a live battle re-enactment featuring over 200 performers, an elevating 30ft robot and spacecraft flown into the night sky.

Since that night and the sad closure of the venue, The Kazimier have created the Invisible Wind Factory, a new home on Liverpool North docks, which features a 1300-capacity venue, 18 artist studios, workshop, electronics lab and garden. The venue opened back in May with its show OMPHALOS, and since then has hosted large-scale nights featuring the likes of The Black Madonna, Peaches, Bicep and Floating Points.

And fans of the Kaz will be delighted to learn that The Kazimier team have a similarly wild and inventive end-of-year party planned for their new venue.

“To celebrate this year of transition, The Kazimier will again hold a huge New Years Eve party, transforming their new space into an immersive world from the future,” reads a statement from the promoters.

The NYE party will feature “walk-through installations, vast set-design and aerial performance; the night will display the potential this building holds.”

Traditionally, the Kazimier’s NYE parties have been built on the mythical tale of Captain Kronos, a time travelling hero and his intergalactic adventures. The Kazimier team promise that at this upcoming NYE bash “the [Captain Kronos] story will tread deeper into an ominous and sinister territory.”

2016 has proved to be an absolute stinker. Be sure to say goodbye to it in style.
