The SAMAs, in their eighth year, aim to celebrate the wealth of underground musical talent in Scotland. Glasgow surf pop outfit The Van T's scooped the best live act prize, while the best electronic award went to Edinburgh three-piece Stillhound. The best newcomer award went to fuzzy garage pop trio SHREDD!, with Lewis Capaldi and Kid Robotik scooping the acoustic and hip-hop prizes respectively. The best rock award went to Shambolics, with Tiberius' win in the best metal category rounding off the winners.

The ceremony, at the Glasgow Garage, featured live sets from a trio of Glasgow bands; disco punk act WHITE, psychedelic rockers Holy Mountain and electro three-piece BooHooHoo. Read the full list of this year's nominees and winners below.
