On Tour: De La Soul, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden & Death Grips

Nine Inch Nails bring the Hesitation Marks tour to the UK in May, with Cold Cave in support, coming to the Glasgow Hydro on 20 May, and Manchester's Phones 4u Arena on 25 May. They have just extended the tour in the US – lucky gig-goers there will get to see Reznor's band accompanied by Soundgarden, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their classic album Superunknown, and Sacramento avant garde rap/punk trio Death Grips, playing a string of dates throughout July and August. It will also be the 20th anniversary of the release of classic Nine Inch Nails album The Downward Spiral. After a few lineup changes, NIN's current touring band consists of Trent Reznor, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Robin Finck, and Ilan Rubin – although the line-up for the European tour is officially "to be announced." It's not looking likely at this point that Soundgarden and Death Grips will make it to the UK with NIN at any point in the tour, but if that changes, we'll keep you posted.

Closer to home, De La Soul have announced some dates in the UK – in the run-up to their headline appearance at this year's Bestival (4-7 Sep) later in the year, the Long Island rap legends will play Manchester's The Academy on 2 May, and Glasgow's The Arches on 3 May. The group re-released their entire back catalogue online for free earlier this year – if you were lucky enough to fill the gaps in your collection on the day the MP3s were available, the band have posted a thank you message to you on their homepage.
