Mugstar unveil their own God Unknown Records and singles club

Liverpool drone heroes Mugstar are set to expand their horizons yet again with the launch of a new record label.

Founded by bassist Jason Stoll, God Unknown Records will commence operations with Singles Club, a series of ten split 7”s starring the likes of Acid Mothers Temple, Teeth of The Sea, Bardo Pond, Oneida and more.

The Singles Club’s first release is set to feature Portland psychedelicists Eternal Tapestry and Manchester’s improvisatory space cadets Gnod – as with all releases in the series, it’s limited to 200  subscriptions.

Artwork for the series comes courtesy of Sam Wiehl, whose extraordinary visual work has become a regular feature of both Mugstar performances and the Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia.

It marks another exciting year for Mugstar with the impending release of ‘Start From Zero’, a live recording of their collaboration with Can legend Damo Suzuki.

Planned future releases for the label include a solo LP from Stoll’s bandmate Peter Smythe, and the debut full-length from fellow Scouse riff-monsters Mind Mountain.
