Glasgow post-rockers Mogwai have announced plans for a charity donation drive at their 20th anniversary shows at the Glasgow Barrowlands this weekend.

Ahead of the shows, collections of in-date tinned foods, tea and coffee and other sundries and non-perishable items will be made for the city's Trussell Trust food banks and The Everlasting Food Bank in Dennistoun. A cash donation drive will also take place ahead of the gigs, which kick off at 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Mogwai are supported by PYE Corner Audio – who contributed one of the remixes to last year’s Music Industry 3. Fitness Industry 1 EP – alongside Prolapse and Loop on 20 June. Sacred Paws – signed to Mogwai's own Rock Action imprint – Forest Swords and The Vaselines take up support duties on 21 June. Tickets for both gigs are now sold out.

The band's twentieth anniversary celebrations also include a series of hand-picked gigs at the Roundhouse in London, featuring Public Enemy, Lightning Bolt, GZA of Wu-Tang Clan, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and The Jesus and Mary Chain (from which Stuart Braithwaite recently interviewed Jim Reid over at The Guardian).
