Mark Ronson will be helping Edinburgh see in the New Year this Hogmanay, it's been announced. The hit-making producer will host the Scottish capital's annual end-of-year party, and he'll be the first DJ to do so. Over the years, he's collaborated with everyone from Paul McCartney to Queens of the Stone Age, Lady Gaga to Bruno Mars. Ronson's new record, Late Night Feelings, released last month, is particularly overflowing with sparkling female stars, including Camilla Cabello, Miley Cyrus, Angel Olsen, Lykke Li and YEBBA.

Dubbed Mark Ronson’s “Hogmanay in the Gardens”, the gig will cap off an impressive year for Ronson. Back in February, he won the Best Original Song Oscar for hit song Shallows, which he co-wrote with Lady Gaga for the movie A Star is Born. While last month he joined Miley Cyrus on stage for her set at Glastonbury. "In our third year producing Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, we’re bringing one of the biggest DJs in the world to Edinburgh to throw one almighty party," said Charlie Wood and Ed Bartlam, the directors of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, in a statement. "Mark is a multi-award-winning producer and DJ whose music has been the soundtrack to this decade, there is simply no one in the world better to play out the last hours of 2019 and bring in 2020.”

The full programme for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, including support acts for Mark Ronson’s Hogmanay in the Gardens, will be announced in the autumn. Tickets are available from Monday 22 July at 10am at edinburghshogmanay.com
