Liverpool's Get Into This Award: Shortlist announced, featuring Evian Christ, Ninetails and more

The shortlist for this year's GIT (GetIntoThis) Award has been announced, and it included a few Skinny favourites from Liverpool and beyond, like Evian Crist, Forest Swords, Ninetails, Dan Croll and Tea Street Band

Returning for its third year, the Liverpool-based GIT (GetIntoThis) Award will be given to an emerging band from the Liverpool and Merseyside area in recognition of their achievements and potential. Previous winners have included Loved Ones and Baltic Fleet. The shortlist for this year's award was announced today, with the winner to be chosen by a team of judges including music journalists Simon Price and Jude Rogers, and Creation Records boss Alan McGee.

The winning band will be awarded a £1000 prize at Liverpool's Kazimier on 11 April. This year's shortlist offers an array of incredibly exciting bands and producers, some of whom are very much firm favourites in The Skinny offices. The shortlist in full is as follows:

All We Are – avant garde electro-pop trio (Liverpool)
Circa Waves – cheery pop-punkers (Liverpool)
Dan Croll – acclaimed singer-songwriter (Liverpool)
Evian Christ – Tri-Angle beatsmith and Kanye favourite (Ellesemere Port)
Ex-Easter Island Head – multi-limbed avant garde ensemble (Liverpool)
Forest Swords – textured, organic electronic hip-hop producer, also on Tri-Angle (The Wirral)
Mad Brains – silver age-influenced rapper with a conscious flow (Liverpool)
Ninetails – dreamy synth-pop / ethereal R&B outfit (Liverpool)
Outfit – abstract psych-pop experimentalists (Liverpool)
Bill Ryder-Jones – Domino-signed singer-songwriter, ex-The Coral (The Wirral)
Tea Street Band – Factory-esque synth-poppers and Sound City favourites (Liverpool)
VEYU – ethereal indie / dream-pop newcomers (The Wirral)
