Take a first listen to Love Drive Through by Law Holt, taken from her forthcoming debut album City

Love Drive Through is a feedback-drenched, bass-heavy cut from Holt's first full-length album, City, described in our August issue as "underwater pop music heard through a crackling, long-distance line". Read our review of City here, and listen to the track in the player below.

The genre-hopping Edinburgh-based songwriter, and past collaborator with Mercury Prize nominees Young Fathers, worked alongside the band's producer Timothy London on City. Speaking to The Skinny in 2014, Holt described her working relationship with London, saying: "I had recorded before but it was always more traditional. When I started working with Tim we hit it off... the way he worked fitted with what I wanted to do.

"That instantaneous way of working deserves a lot of credit. I mean, you must have the ideas before you record, and maybe that’s why people don’t do it – because they don’t have the ideas.”

City by Law Holt is out on 26 Aug, via Soulpunk.
