Låpsley unveils debut album Long Way Home

Northwest singer/producer Låpsley has announced the release of her debut album Long Way Home, along with new track Love Is Blind and details of a short UK tour.

Long Way Home details an eventful two years in the life of Holly Låpsley Fletcher – hailing from Southport, but currently based in London – which began when her bedroom-recorded track Station attracted attention at BBC Radio One. Shortly after, she picked up the inaugural One To Watch prize at the 2014 GIT Award, before signing to XL and beginning a journey which took her from Liverpool to London to Los Angeles. "It has two different meanings," says Fletcher, explaining the record's title. "The album’s about a long distance relationship, but also if you walk the long way home with someone you’re trying to spend as much time as you can with them."

The singer also explains her determination to control the direction of Long Way Home, despite some producers having other ideas: "They didn’t want to listen to me. Or they think a girl’s just there to add a top line, or they come to the table with ideas already. Straight away if I come in to a studio and someone says ‘I’ve written something for you,’ then I’ll just walk out. I don’t care. I’m not there for that."

Long Way Home is released via XL Recordings on 4 March – read the full track list and tour dates below, and watch the video for Love Is Blind here:
