Junun will make a rare live appearance as the closing act at the Netherlands' Le Guess Who? festival in November.

A collaboration between Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, Indian ensemble The Rahasthan Express and Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur, Junun released an eponymous double-album debut last year, which was recorded within a 15th century Mehrangarh fort in Rajasthan, India by producer Nigel Godrich. With their name translating as 'the madness of love', Junjun's exuberant music explores meditation and joyful madness through traditional Qawwali singers, tumultuous brass and a Greenwood-styled rhythm section. The group will also bring a 19-piece backing band to their broadly multilingual lyricism for a celebration of collaborative cultures, following previous performances at the Barbican and the Jerusalem Sacred Music Festival.

Le Guess Who?'s 2016 line-up also stars Wilco, Savages, Julia Holter and Suuns, all of whom have individually curated their own heavyweight billings. With the Utrecht-based festival celebrating its 10th birthday this year, there are over 100 acts scheduled to appear, including Dinosaur Jr, Swans, Tim Hecker, Cate le Bon, Shopping and Bo Ningen.

Le Guess Who? runs from 10-13 Nov, Utrecht, NL. Tickets are on sale now at leguesswho.com, €40-€125.
