Idlewild will play a one-off gig with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra at Paisley Abbey as part of the Spree Festival this October.

The quintet, who released seventh album Everything Ever Written earlier this year, will play alongside the RSNO at Paisley Abbey on Friday 16 October. Scottish bands teaming up with the RSNO tie-up has been a recurring feature at past editions of Spree, with Admiral Fallow, King Creosote and The Twilight Sad among the bands to have taken the stage alongside the Orchestra in previous years. Watch The Twilight Sad perform 'The Wrong Car' with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in the player below.

Elsewhere in the Spree Festival line-up, a Scottish Album of the Year award showcase features SAY Award-winner Kathryn Joseph alongside synth pop duo Happy Meals and Glasgow garage rockers PAWS, plus gigs from Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells and King Creosote and Vic Galloway's Khartoum Heroes project.

Spree Festival takes place at various venues across Paisley from 9-17 October.
