Police looking to trace Scott Hutchison, the lead singer of much-loved Scottish indie band Frightened Rabbit who was reported missing on Wednesday morning, have confirmed that a body has been found. Writing in a Facebook update, Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that the body of a man was found at Port Edgar near South Queensferry around 8.30pm on Thursday 10 May."

In a statement on Facebook, Scott's bandmates – Billy Kennedy, Andy Monaghan, Simon Liddell, and Scott's brother Grant Hutchison – said: "There are no words to describe the overwhelming sadness and pain that comes with the death of our beloved Scott, but to know he is no longer suffering brings us some comfort.

"Reading messages of support and hope from those he has helped through his art has helped immensely and we encourage you all to continue doing this. He will be missed by all of us and his absence will always be felt but he leaves a legacy of hope, kindness and colour that will forever be remembered and shared."

The thoughts of everyone at The Skinny are with the Hutchison family, and Scott's many friends and colleagues across the Scottish cultural scene and beyond, at this very sad time.

Originally from Selkirk, Hutchison was reported missing from his home in Glasgow by his family on Wednesday; the 36-year-old singer-songwriter was last seen on CCTV visiting the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry at around 1am on 9 May.
