FFS – Franz Ferdinand and Sparks form new band, plot summer tour

Glasgow art rockers Franz Ferdinand have joined forces with LA new wavers Sparks for a new project. Taking the name FFS, the transatlantic sextet will unveil their new sounds with a performance at Glasgow Art School on 16 June, before embarking on a European tour at the end of that month.

With no full material available as yet, FFS have offered the following curiosity-piquing teaser for new song The Domino Effect:

Of course, this is not the first time the Mael Brothers have paired up with unlikely collaborators – although given Franz Ferdinand were discussing a Sparks covers album back in 2006, this one may not come as a total surprise to some.

UK show tickets will go onsale from 9am, Friday 13 March.
