Explosions In The Sky will play gigs in Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, Brighton and London next April – get the full details below.

The instrumental quartet last toured the UK in 2012, following the release of their sixth studio album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care which earned a five-star review in our March 2011 issue.

The band's live absence follows an equally long gap between their previous two studio albums – speaking to The Skinny in 2011, drummer Chris Hrasky said: "We did a lot of touring behind the last record and we’re not a band that can write when we’re on tour, it’s just impossible for us."

Read our in-depth interview with Chris Hrasky on Explosions In The Sky's soundtrack work on the likes of Friday Night Lights, their balancing of live and studio work, and the ways in which the band select their touring mates.

Wed 20 Apr – Vicar Street, Dublin
