East India Youth announces UK tour and shares new single Turn Away

William Doyle, aka East India Youth, has announced his biggest tour to date ahead of the release of his second album Culture of Volume – he’s also released the first single from the LP, Turn Away.

East India Youth has confirmed a string of UK tour dates for May and June to follow a tour of the USA and Canada. Doyle has also been confirmed for the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas next month.

East India Youth's live show won plaudits throughout 2014, and Doyle told The Skinny last year that he set out from the start to avoid becoming "the archetypal electronic musician" on stage. Doyle said: "I was worried I wasn’t going to enjoy performing electronic music as much as playing in bands, so the idea was to have more of a show."

The new single Turn Away is the second track to be shared from the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed Total Strife Forever, which was nominated for the 2014 Mercury Prize.

Culture of Volume is out on 6 Apr, via XL Recordings.

East India Youth UK tour dates:
23 May – How The Light Gets In Festival, Hay-on-Wye
27 May – Deaf Institute, Manchester
28 May – King Tuts, Glasgow
30 May – Plug, Sheffield
31 May – Arts Centre, Norwich
2 Jun – Exchange, Bristol
3 Jun – The Haunt, Brighton
4 Jun – Village Underground, London
5 Jun – Music Hall, Ramsgate
