Björk says her “new album is coming out very soon”
The Icelandic pop icon lets the world know her ninth album will be with us soon via a handwritten note
Björk’s new album will be with us presently. That’s the news coming from the Icelandic artist's Instagram, where she posted a picture of a simple handwritten note that says, “I am excited to share with you that my new album is coming out very soon.”
The new album, her ninth, is still untitled, but is currently available to pre-order on Björk’s site on vinyl or CD. Other than the price, however, there are no other details.
Her previous album, Vulnicura, was a raw documenting of the break-up with her long term partner. In our review (by Gary Kaill), we called it “Björk's best album in years, fusing close-up confessionals, microbeats and chamber strings to overwhelming, uplifting effect.” Vulnicura ended up on many of top ten lists in 2015, including The Skinny’s, and the mercurial artist put in a five-star performance at that year's Manchester International Festival – read our review here.
