Bid Now for the New Mouse on Mars 12"
German experimental electronic pioneers Mouse On Mars have a new single out – but they've only made one copy. The incredibly limited-edition 12" WOWRETCHED was created using their iPhone app Wretchup, recently funded by a successful crowdfunding campaign.
"WretchUp is inspired by analog hardware effects, translated into something you can hold in your hand," the duo write on the page for the Wretchup funding campaign. "You can use it on drums. You can use it to transform music tracks, or playing with feedback from a speaker. You can just have fun speaking or singing into it. But whatever you do, it's designed around the handheld. In place of a complex interface, the focus is on a broad range of sound possibilities and quick exploration beneath your fingers. You can concentrate on listening and experimentation, as the app produces a range of sounds, fast."
The limited 12" is a remixed version of their mini-album WOW, with each side of the vinyl featuring a 10-minute, continuously mixed re-version. To buy the super-limited vinyl, fans must bid on eBay. You can stream a teaser for the track below. Their new album Spezmodia is out on 14 January.
