Since forming in Glasgow in 2012, The Bellybuttons have been a permanent fixture in the Glasgow music scene. Self-described navel-gazers their music is indebted to the likes of The Velvet Underground, Pavement, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Times New Viking.

The Skinny are delighted to be premiering their latest offering, the very aptly named Referendum on You (Enemies), which you can listen to in the player below. Of the track, frontman Conor Quill tells us: "The song is about the need for more conciliation between people who disagree. A lot of people are very angry at the moment, and many for legitimate reasons, but there seems to be far too much focus on what we disagree over right now as opposed to our similarities."

Quill also adds: "We wrote the three songs on our upcoming Wires EP last autumn and they’re quite a bit more mellow than our previous releases so seemed to make sense to put them out together. We’re also in the process of working on our debut album which is exciting!"

The Bellybuttons celebrate the release of their new Wires EP on 17 Jun @ The Hug & Pint, Glasgow. Support comes from Savage Mansion and Decent Sweets.
