Glasgow girl group TeenCanteen are back with their brand new EP Sirens – "indulgent like a cheesecake is indulgent" – following the success of last year's debut album, Say It All With a Kiss.

Sirens is due for a Record Store Day release on 22 Apr via Last Night From Glasgow, and ahead of its release The Skinny are premiering the music video for Millions. “Thematically it follows on from where our debut album left off,” frontwoman Carla J Easton tells us. “The linking theme between all these songs is dealing with (or in some cases not dealing with) loss and looking back to previous events that have happened which may have at first appeared negative but shape the future to come.

“Millions is quite a personal song for me and, without going into too much detail, reflects on how I feel, now, about my dad passing away when I was 15. It was recorded at La Chunky Studio in Glasgow with Stephen Watkins producing and mixing – mastered by Joe Kane.

“The video was directed and edited by Blair Young from Forest of Black,” she continues. “This is TeenCanteen's third time working with him and, to be honest, he's starting to feel like our fifth member! I think it's important to let other people translate your music when working with them creatively – he wanted to push us into a new direction that reflected who we are, personally, and where we are at as a band. When he heard the track he said it was time to go far, far away.”

Sirens is released on 22 Apr via Last Night From Glasgow – pre-order the EP on splatter 12" vinyl. TeenCanteen play Nice N Sleazy, Glasgow, 22 Apr, Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh, 28 Apr, and The Castle, Manchester, 11 May.
