Mïus – Torso (Vessels Remix): Track Premiere

Listen to the Vessels remix of the new single Torso from Budapest-based Mïus

Mïus is the solo music project of Budapest-based Gergely Álmos. He already has three albums under his belt, the most recent of which was 2016’s Eigengrau via Sonar Kollektiv, with a fourth entitled Twentytwo 22 on its way. When he’s not creating his beautiful soundscapes, Álmos is an architect and he also works in film as a set designer.

Twentytwo 22 is set for release in April via Théque Records, a label which Álmos runs in Budapest with filmmaker Annamaria Ligosztajeva. This month sees Mïus treat us to brand new single Torso, as remixed by Leeds-based five-piece Vessels, which The Skinny are delighted to be premiering in the SoundCloud player below.

Vessels’ remix of Torso is a beautiful and bubbling slice of electronica which is at points trance-inducing. “The title Torso refers to the ancient, broken and eroded stone statues seen in art,” Álmos tells us. “The beauty found in the damaged, unfinished or imperfect influenced the concept of the original track.

“I really like how Vessels placed this imperfection into their intensely emotive atmosphere that builds continuously until the catharsis in the end,” Álmos concludes. “I really enjoyed working on this one,” Vessels’ Lee J. Malcolm adds. “As soon as I got those haunting vocals in I knew where I wanted to take it. Love the groove and the build of the whole track as it unfolds. Happy Days.”

Torso is released on 9 March via Théque Records; Twentytwo 22 is set for release in April via Théque Records
