Scottish experimental alt-pop singer-songwriter MALKA is set to release Ratatatat on 20 Oct, the follow-up to 2015’s Marching to Another Beat. Similar to her debut, Ratatatat is being funded by a PledgeMusic campaign which is live until 1 Sep – various bundles and price options are available and 10% of any money raised after the goal is reached will go to Save The Children.

Singles so far released from Ratatatat (Breakout / Fell For You) have received support from BBC Radio 6 Music DJs Lauren Laverne and Chris Hawkins, and we’re delighted at The Skinny to be premiering the music video for the album’s third single, Falling, which you can watch in the above player.

Of the single, MALKA tells us: “What I love most about music is that it can mean one thing to the writer and another to the listener. [Falling] is about not standing in line and ignoring what is going on in the world. But it can equally be about a break-up of a relationship.”

The video for Falling was directed by Lee Bamsey who told us: “The idea reflects the importance of confronting issues, and talking them though. It emphasises that the art of conversation can easily be lost to a phone or device, which can cause resentment and angst. Talk about things and act on them, instead of wasting your time looking at nonsense on your phone.”

Ratatatat is released on 20 Oct via a PledgeMusic campaign which you can contribute towards here until 1 Sep.
