New Manchester synth-pop band Koalas have unveiled their debut track, Home Heart, co-produced by avant-pop producer Brendan Williams (Dutch Uncles, GoGo Penguin).

In the atmospheric video the band explore themes of love and purpose, before the narrative unfurls into an encroaching hallucinatory wilderness, which hints at their penchant for the great outdoors.

“It’s not a love song as such, but as with a lot of our songs it’s about love,” explains one half of Koalas and producer/composer/vocalist Samuel Jones. “Our songs are about our place on earth as human beings as well, who are we and where we’re going, but the two sort of tie together.”
“We’ve taken our time to pull everything together, craft and refine. The live show in particular was something we have to really think about before we could even get close to a rehearsal room, the show is about 80% analogue synths with live drums so what you’re hearing is pure voltage which is hopefully pretty exciting.”
