Tapeworm is the debut single from Glasgow based post-punk/noise band Bridal Shower – comprised of Lewis Glass (guitar/vocals), Scott McColl (guitar), William Clapperton (bass/vocals) and Iain Gillon (drums), the band formed in late 2015.

Bridal Shower's sound is heavily influenced by 90s alternative bands like Sonic Youth, Unwound, Fugazi and Melvins, and are not ashamed to show it on Tapeworm. Lyrically it deals with issues of mental illness, anxiety and the feeling of helplessness that comes along with it: “Tapeworm was one of the final songs we completed before recording our record, but from the word go it was one of our favorite tracks," Gillon tells us.

"As far as we’re concerned it best sums up what we aim to do as a band. We hold a lot of Dischord, Sub Pop and Touch & Go bands in very high regard and I think this track is where that influence really manifests itself."

The four-piece are set to unleash their debut album early next year, which was recorded at 7 West Studios, mixed at Glassworks Studio Recording and mastered by Matthew J Barnhart at the Chicago Mastering Service.

Tapeworm is released on Thu 1 Dec

Bridal Shower are supporting London trio Slowcoaches at The Hug and Pint on Thu 8 Dec
