Ayakara – Dressed From '67: Video Premiere

Video by Music Team | 07 Feb 2017

Hailing from Leith, Ayakara are five schoolfriends – Max, Callum, Felix, Alex and Jonnie – who have been making their mark with energetic, crowd-bouncing live shows for three years now. Ayakara’s new single Dressed from ’67 is a record that celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Summer of Love. A track inspired by the great social, political and cultural changes of the period, the song juxtaposes it with the cheap, shallow experiences that pass for contemporary living.

Of the single, Felix Christie tells us: “Dressed From '67 (is) a social commentary about how life these days is lacking in meaning for a lot of people, and how just like the previous generations who felt this way we need to express and create for ourselves."

To celebrate the release of the single, Ayakara are playing a string of dates across the UK:

10 Feb – Midnight Breakfast Club, Bathgate
11 Feb – Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh
17 Feb – Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle
18 Feb – The Hug & Pint, Glasgow
24 Feb – Beat Generator! Live, Dundee
25 Feb – The Lexington, London
2 Mar – UWS Student Union, Ayr
