Vivian Girls @ Stereo, 21 May

Article by Gordon Bruce | 29 Apr 2009

Vivian Girls are a trio who have set out to prove to their more pretentious Brooklyn counterparts that every song doesn’t have to be a wild, synth-laden experiment in 11/4. No, instead a perfectly decent tune can be turn up, go and leave you begging for more in less than two minutes. Their influences are wide-ranging, from '60s harmonic pop sensations The Ronettes to the lo-fi revolution currently fuzzing its way across America from the likes of West Coast duo No Age. So prepare for shaking, moshing and what promises to be ear-bleeding pure pop entertainment.
