Sky Larkin @ King Tut's, 26 Jan

Article by Gordon Bruce | 05 Jan 2009

If you are of the belief that rock and twee can never coincide harmoniously, then Sky Larkin will give you a kick up the arse and a pat on the head. They construct lush pop songs, adorn some pretty lyrics and then tear it down with cavernous distortion. It’s a refreshing and novel sound with nods to those halcyon days when grunge sat astride the world. With a good few singles nestled under their belts and an album due early this year, the hype is skyrocketing for a band you need to see if that precious indie street cred is to be maintained.
