Jagwar Ma @ Liquid Room, 19 Mar
The Aussie psych rockers return to Scotland with songs from most recent album Every Now and Then – we caught up with them at the end of 2016 to discuss the album, working with Earl Sweatshirt and Warpaint's Stella Mozgawa, and Tunnock's Caramel Wafers. They love caramel wafers.

Live music in Glasgow

Factory Floor @ SWG3, 16 Mar
Factory Floor are two of The Skinny’s favourite noise-making humans and they’re bringing their unique brand of post-industrial dance party music to Glasgow’s SWG3. Yay! With both their excellent albums released on the eternally hip NY label DFA, co-founded by James Murphy, this London duo really are about as cool as they come. Oh, and they’re about as loud as they come as well so don’t forget your earplugs!

Cloud Nothings @ Stereo, 17 Mar
Dylan Baldi and Cloud Nothings hit Stereo, hot on the heels of fourth album Life Without Sound. Read our interview with Baldi from our January issue, discussing the progression and purpose behind the band's most thoughtful record to date.

6 Music Fringe: Surfer Blood @ Broadcast; Circa Waves @ Barrowland, 20 Mar
Tickets for the 6 Music Festival proper may have gone flying out the door in double-quick time, but there's a healthy line-up of fringe events across town to get involved in. Highlights from day one include Florida indie rockers Surfer Blood at Broadcast with support from Dutch lo-fi sensation Pip Blom, and Liverpool garage-pop quartet Circa Waves headlining the Barrowlands.

Live music elsewhere in Scotland

Motherwell Makes Music @ venues across Motherwell, 17-19 Mar
With a focus on emerging Scottish talent, think of this this as a great way to discover your new favourite band – with three days of live music on offer, you’re bound to leave with a few. Tickets are priced at the measly sum of £10. For three days of music, we hear you cry? Yes!

Strange Behaviours: 15 Years Of Scottish Indie @ Tolbooth, Stirling, 18 Mar
Meursault head the bill as the Stirling venue celebrates its birthday; support comes from folk-ambient trio Constant Follower, Stirlingshire emcee C R P N T R and local lo-fi songwriter Sulka.

Gig of the Week

Start to End perform Feist's The Reminder @ Hug & Pint, 15 Mar
Having successfully tried their hand at classics by Radiohead, Neutral Milk Hotel and Daft Punk, the team behind Start to End take on Leslie Feist's 2007 folk-pop classic The Reminder at the Hug and Pint. Support comes in the form of Louis Abbot of Admiral Fallow tackling tracks from Feist's back catalogue.
