Ross Clark @ Òran Mór, Glasgow, 24 Jun

Article by Nicola Cunningham | 27 Apr 2009

Native Glaswegian Ross Clark has become a mainstay on the Scottish music scene. Describing his own sound as ‘fucked-up country’, Clark’s a regular in venues and clubs across the land, both solo and with band The Scarfs Go Missing. His debut solo album You Brought Evil was released in January this year, described as a marriage of country, blues and at some points, gospel. A self-confessed banjo-obsessed Neil Young fan, Clark’s solo sets are haunting but uplifting, filling venues with a soulful twang that wouldn’t sound out of place in the Deep South.
